Day 1: From Brighton to London... to Swindon!
We had a very early train from Brighton to London this morning, to get to City of London Academy school in Bermondsey. We spoke to 250 kids from the school and local primary schools about The Immortals, and Beyond the Deepwoods. Chris drew a Banderbear which has a terrible time in Beyond the Deepwoods but a much better time in The Immortals. The school was fantastic, built 5 years ago and very spacious.
Then on to our publisher's office in Vauxhall to talk to booksellers all about our new book, Wyrmeweald. Very exciting to see bound proofs for the first time!
Then we were whisked off to get a fast train to Swindon just as it started snowing. We've got a big school event tomorrow in Swindon and a visit to Clifton Prep school in Bristol in the afternoon. We were meant to visit Clifton Prep this time last year and it snowed so badly we had to cancel the trip. Imagine how we felt when we saw it was snowing today - we hope we make it to Bristol this time!

Day 2: From Swindon to Bristol...
This morning we visited Doran Technology College in Swindon which plays host to at least 9 other schools from the Swindon area. It was a great event with an exuberant audience, some really good questions.
After catching a train to Bristol and a quick lunch - delicious paninis at Blackwell's - we arrived at Clifton College Prep - only a year late (we had originally planned to visit as part of our Edge-to-Edge tour last February but had been snowed in). The kids at Clifton were brilliant and we had a great time. Thank you to Gil and everyone else who made our visit such fun.

Day 3: And back to Brighton!
We braved the bitter cold and swirling snow to go to Downs Junior School in Brighton.
And we were so glad we did. The event was tremendous. In our two sessions we met all the students, from year 3 to year 6.
Then, after lunch, we went up to Woodingdean Primary - where it was even colder and snowier - and met their years 5 and 6.
Again, a wonderful session. Loads of thanks to Etwyn and Shelagh, and Vanessa at Book Nook, and everyone else who helped make today such a fun and successful day.
Cambridge tomorrow - assuming the snow holds off...

Day 4: An ice-cold day in Cambridge
Thursday was another ice-cold day, the pavements dusted with snow.
We took the train to Cambridge, a city we last visited four years ago.
We visited Perse Prep and gave a talk to the whole school, followed by a long signing.
Afterwards we were interviewed by Laura Freeman about the Edge.
Laura has been a fan of the Edge Chronicles since they were first published eleven years ago, and though she's now studying at Cambridge University, she read - and enjoyed - the Immortals.
Her article will appear in the Varsity Magazine.
Our final event of the tour was at Heffers bookshops, where we talked to a large crowd that included a large group of boys from Kings College.
The talk was a lot of fun - the perfect end to an excellent week.
The next time we go on tour, it will be to talk about our new project, Wyrmeweald: Returner's Wealth. Hope to see you then.
